10. Soviet Union National Football Team

The Soviet Union national football team was the national football team of the Soviet Union. After the breakup of the union, the team was transformed into CIS national football team and ultimately Russian national football team. This country won Ballon d'Or 3 times in there existence.

9. Spain

Spain is one of the eight national teams to have been crowned worldwide champions, having participated in a total of 15 of 21 FIFA world cups and qualifying consistently since 1978. Spain has also won 3 continental titles, having appeared at 10 of 15 UEFA European championship. Spain become the first European team to win a FIFA world cup outside of Europe, having won the 2010 tournament in South Africa, as well as having won back to back European titles in Euro 2008 and Euro 2012 defeating Germany and Italy in the respective finals, making them the only national team with three consecutive major titles.

Brazil is the only national team to have played in all world cup editions without any absence nor needs for playoffs.

England is one of the two oldest national teams in football, alongside Scotland, whom they played in the world's first international match in 1872. England's home ground is Wembley stadium. Since first entering the tournament in 1950, England has qualified for the FIFA world cup 15 times, they won the 1966 world cup, when they hosted the finals.

5. Argentina 

Argentina has appeared in five world cup finals, including the first final in 1930, which they lost to Uruguay. Argentina won in their next appearance in1978, beating the Netherlands at extra time, 3-1. Argentina won again in 1986, through a 3-2 victory over West Germany, and a tournament campaign led by Diego Maradona. They made the world cup final once more in 1990 and lost 1-0 to West Germany following a controversial penalty call in the 87th minute. Argentina, led by Linoel Messi, made its fifth appearance in the world cup final 2014, again losing to Germany 1-0 during extra time.

France was the first national team to win the three most important's men titles recognized by FIFA. The World Cup, The Confederations Cup, and the Olympic tournament. 3. The Netherlands

 The Netherlands has competed in 10 FIFA World cups, appearing in the finals three times (in  1974,1978,2010). The Netherlands has long-standing football rivalries with neighbors Belgium and Germany.
